Vale starts decommission of its Ipoema Dam

The 321 stainless steel coil priceBrazilian iron ore miner Vale revealed the begin of jobs to decommission the Ipoema Dam, locatealuzinc steel coild in Itabira, stateGangya steel of Minas Gerais.Ipoema is the last dam built in the upstream technology to be removed this year.The upstream dams are based on the same technology of the Brumadinho dam, which fell down in January 2019Between currently and the end of this year, Vale will have 12 of its 30 upstream dams removed, while 90 percent of such dams are expected to be removed till completion of 2029, with the 100 percent mark being attained in 2035. In Itabira, sub-dams 3 and also 4 of the Pontal System are also undertaking decommission jobs, with conclusion anticipated until completion of this year, while various other two sub-dams were already decommissioned.
