ArcelorMittal France to momentarily idle BF No. 2 at Fos-sur-Mer plant

ArcelorMittal France, a subsidiary of Luxembourg-based steelmaker ArcelorMittal, has determined to briefly idle among its two blast heaters at its Fos-sur-Mer plant in the south of France from December, according to neighborhood media reports.The primary factor for the suspension of the blast furnace No. 2, which has an annual manufacturing capacity of 2 million mt, is the stagnation in steel demand as well as the influence of high power costs. It is not reported how long the stoppage will last as it doubts when need will certainly recuperate.
